This module is provided online and undertaken at each students own pace. Module 1 provides an essential learning foundation for all of our in class modules whether you are an new or experienced therapist. You'll receive 10 hours online videos covering the below syllabus.Here's what you'll get:

Module 1:Introduction
10 hours self study online videos theory which will then be applied/re-emphasised during all modules.:
- What is AYM
- Objectives of treatments (indications)
- General and local contra-indications to massage therapy Considerations in setting up a space
- Hygiene
- Materials
- Trauma informed practice
- Approach to nerve sensitivity
- Importance of breath
- How to help clients relax during a treatment
- Summary of what to pay attention to before, during and after a treatment.
- Safe and comfortable client lying down positions (prone, supine, child’s pose, sitting)
- Customer service
We will be applying these module 1 concepts to offer guided treatments to peers throughout the rest of the training.
Optional: come to the mentorship meetings to ask questions/discuss and to get to know other trainee therapists.
On completion of module 2, students will be provided with additional instructional videos to cover: AYMTA ethical guidelines, customer service, practical and legal aspects of setting up a treatment room and a massage business (currently named follow-up videos).
